Inventory Assistant

INVENTORY ASSISTANT

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 7 AM - 5:30 PM 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leader of change in our organization
  • Willing to embrace our Lean culture
  • Willing to make suggestions and drive improvements daily
  • Counts, sorts, and checks incoming products; verifies against purchase orders, shipping notices, or invoices; places articles on inventory shelves or in workstations
  • Assists production with replenishing inventory in workstations; rotates inventory and keeps it orderly and neat in appearance
  • Checks inventory periodically to determine reordering needs and verify with records; requisitions standard stock items, supplies or materials within established limits; notifies designated staff of fast moving items
  • Contact vendors to obtain information regarding shipping status of orders or special orders placed by department
  • Places or changes Kanban cards for inventory products and labels shelves accordingly
  • Assists production department as directed
  • Records or documents changes in inventory, conducts monthly inventory counts
  • Gathers requisitioned supplies, merchandise, or materials and prepares for delivery or pick-up
  • Assists in locating needed inventory products, materials, or supplies
  • Trains and assists interns as needed
  • Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s mission and help execute growth plans
  • High level of integrity and professionalism

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Basic computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
      • Outstanding communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal)
      • Detail-oriented
      • Expected to be on time and able to maintain a high attendance record
      • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
      • Excellent prioritization skills
      • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills; able to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking
      • Ability to visualize data
      • Flexible, comfortable with change, and able to maintain a positive and infectious attitude
      • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 44 lbs. safely
      • Ability to meet consistent attendance
      • High level of integrity and professionalism

      IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

      • Some College and/or equivalent experience in related field
      • Inventory control experience
      • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals / 5S
      • The ability to work independently and meet goals autonomously
