PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
FULL TIME
SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 7 AM - 5:30 PM
COMPENSATION: $17.50
Under the general supervision of the Production Lead/Inventory Lead, the technician will perform a variety of duties using hand & power tools, fixtures, computers, and other equipment required for the task. The technician will read work orders to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble fire and rescue helmets. While performing these duties, the technician is expected to keep the area clean, and free of clutter; look for opportunities to improve the process and eliminate waste.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Prepare work to be accomplished by reading procedures, parts lists, and work orders, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Position parts and subassemblies by using model build specifications and reading work orders.
- Assemble helmets and components by examining for conformity, connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and subassemblies.
- Verify the build of the helmet has been completed according to the information of the work order.
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Phenix Quality System.
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Quality Control or Production Lead.
- Provide hands-on job training to coworkers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate Lean manufacturing functions.
- Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s core values and help execute growth plans.
- Use critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills; to be able to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
- Be flexible, comfortable with change, and maintain a positive and infectious approach to work while performing job functions.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, or equivalent work experience or equivalent work training.
- Experience in materials preparation, assembly, and packaging.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Attention to detail and an understanding of what makes a good, quality product.
- Have the ability to use fine motor skills to piece unique materials together.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to follow the Lean concepts of manufacturing.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

- Produce products to meet customers’ specifications by performing repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on safety helmet assemblies.
- Ability to read drawings and process instructions.
- Detail oriented.
- Have a strong knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of using hand-held power tools.
- Working knowledge of a computer and word processing at the basic level.

- Constantly required to stand and walk for long periods.

- The job is performed in a warehouse setting under temperature and sound variations.
