Limited Warranty:

Phenix Technology, Inc. provides a 5-year helmet warranty to the original purchaser from the date of manufacture by Phenix when purchased from an authorized Phenix distributor. The date of manufacture is found inside the helmet shell. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship when the helmet is used under normal use and service. This warranty applies to the helmet shell; interior dome; leather defects other than abrasions and imperfections such as natural cosmetic variations, color variations, surface abrasions, and other non-structural cosmetic characteristics; chinstrap attachment points; and permanently affixed hardware such as shield posts.

Phenix also warrants any part of a fire helmet that has been damaged in a way that impacts its safety and integrity resulting from a verified emergency incident. (i.e. fires, rescues, etc.) within the warranty period. Phenix will inquire as to how the helmet was damaged and the damage must be verified in writing by a supervisory officer of the department.

Items and accessories designed for normal wear (such as reflective markings, ear laps, suspension, goggles, face shields and chinstraps) are covered for one year from the date of purchase. Phenix approved accessories may be installed by the customer using Phenix approved instructions. Customers are responsible for any damage resulting from improper installation.

Release of Obligations

Phenix Technology Inc. will not be responsible under this warranty if:

  • The helmet has been altered or damaged by repainting, or unauthorized modifications made by a third-party.
  • The helmet has been misused, abused, or damaged outside of an emergency incident.
  • The helmet has not been properly maintained or cleaned with methods other than those described in the applicable Phenix Care and Maintenance Manual.
  • The product was purchased from an unauthorized seller or resold.
  • The issue is not due to a manufacturing defect or fault in workmanship.
  • Any corrective measure performed by the end user or a third party to address a warranty-related concern.

Training can damage a fire helmet. To help prevent this:

  • Always use an aluminized helmet cover made for Phenix First Due (FD) and Traditional Composite (TC-1) fire helmets.
  • Do not use Traditional Leather (TL-2) helmets in live-fire training.

*Any heat damage resulting from training without an aluminized cover—or any heat damage to a Traditional Leather helmet resulting from training—voids all warranties, whether stated or implied.
